We continue our gratitude mini-journal this week. Gratitude is powerful. Even the simple act of journaling or thankful conversations can change brainwave patterns and boost mood. Taking stock of the wonderful people God has in our lives is a great start to the Thanksgiving week. We have wonderful clients who make the world a better place every single day. They serve in communities throughout the country and we want to tell you about them, and let them know that we are thankful for what they do.
So here goes Pumpkin Spiced Gratitude Part 2…
We are grateful for The Hartford Project! Keep the unity flowing!
Check out what The Hartford Project is doing at www.thehartfordproject.org Their example of collaboration and unity in reaching across church lines to help the city of Hartford, CT is inspiring. The Hartford Project started in 2004 when six church youth groups came together as one group with one mutual purpose, “to bring together youth groups from the Greater Hartford area to work with the local Body of Christ to display God’s splendor and promote His unity through acts of kindness and love.” Since then it has grown to multiple groups each summer with hundreds of teens coming together to help. Multiple churches from multiple denominations coming together to help the people of Hartford.
Hartford has great need. Connecticut is one of the richest states in the country yet Hartford has been on the list of top ten poorest cities in the country. It is noted that one third of Hartford residents are living below the poverty line. The Hartford Project serves the city of Hartford through work projects, distributing food and clothing and simple services to the community. Each summer the power of individual churches comes together as one. We are grateful for your example of unity among so many churches in Connecticut. May 2020 be the best year yet!
